ROMEO PEACHES 16U

Matt Kriston
Head Coach
Coach Matt Kriston brings several years of experience coaching 13U, 14U, and 16U softball across both recreational and travel levels. His coaching style is grounded in player development, with a strong emphasis on fundamentals, sportsmanship, and integrity both on and off the field.
A lifelong resident of St. Clair County and 2005 graduate of Port Huron High School, Matt lives in Marysville with his wife Kristen, their three daughters — Keely, Kiley, and Kendel — and their chocolate lab Moose and cat Jazzy. He works professionally as a Maintenance and Reliability Planning Specialist at a food production facility, bringing structure, organization, and a mindset of continuous improvement to his coaching.
After sitting down with leadership from the Peaches organization, it was immediately clear that Coach Matt was the right fit for our 16U program. His values, calm confidence, and dedication to youth development align perfectly with the Peaches mission.
We’re excited to have Coach Matt leading our 16U athletes into a great season ahead!

Frank Wasung
Assistant Coach
Frank has been a proud resident of Ray Township for the past nine years, and a lifelong member of the Macomb County community. He and his wife of 24 years, Heather, are raising their two daughters, Summer and Ella, alongside their four beloved dogs—Vinnie (a mixed breed rescue), Henry the dachshund, and labrador brothers Walker and Texas Ranger. As Frank says, “it’s a bit of a circus every morning—but the best kind!”
Frank’s love for sports runs deep, especially baseball, ice hockey, and football. But his passion for softball began when daughter Ella picked up the sport at age 11. Since then, their whole family has embraced the excitement and energy of the game. Over the last five years, Frank has served as an assistant coach in the Armada Rec League—only missing one season for a well-earned knee replacement, thanks to years spent playing hockey.
Now, as part of the Peaches family, Frank is eager to bring his enthusiasm and experience to the field. He’s most excited about building connections with players, families, and fellow coaches—and making memories that will last far beyond the season.

Scott Neiderheide
Assistant Coach
Coach Scott believes in developing well-rounded athletes who excel on and off the field. His approach blends a supportive atmosphere with real competition—prioritizing rock-solid fundamentals, teamwork, and a relentless work ethic. For Scott, a successful season is measured by the growth each player shows from Day 1 to the final out.
Scott lives in Rochester Hills with his wife, Melanie, daughters Molly and Allison, and their dog Bailey. When he’s not at the diamond, he’s exploring America’s National Parks or cheering on the Detroit Tigers—he’s even watched a game in every MLB stadium.
