Romeo Peaches 2026 Tryout Guide: Everything You Need to Know

If you're preparing for Romeo Peaches tryouts, welcome! Whether you're brand new to travel softball or a returning Peach, we want your experience to be exciting, organized, and stress-free.

We've built our tryout process to give every athlete the opportunity to compete, showcase her skills, and have fun doing it. Here's everything you need to know before stepping onto the field.

Why the Romeo Peaches?

We're building something a little different.

Our mission isn't just to develop better softball players. We want to develop confident young women who love the game, compete with character, and become part of a family that supports one another.

Winning matters. Player development matters. But culture matters just as much.

No matter how tryouts turn out, we're grateful you're considering becoming a Peach.

Tryout Dates

Day 1 — Thursday, July 16

Player check-in begins at 4:15 PM
Tryouts conclude around 8:00 PM

Day 2 — Friday, July 17

Reserved for make-up tryouts and coach call-backs.

If possible, plan on attending Thursday. Most roster decisions begin with the primary tryout day.

Player check-in runs from 4:15 PM until 5:15 PM. Arriving early gives players time to get checked in, relax, and prepare before evaluations begin.

Which Age Division Should You Try Out For?

Players should attend the age division determined by their USSSA age for the upcoming season.

Generally, we recommend players compete in their age-appropriate division unless they've already been invited to attend an older age group by one of our coaches.

Our staff can also help answer questions during check-in if you're unsure where to report.

What Happens at Check-In?

Our check-in process is quick and easy.

When you arrive:

Tell us which age group you're trying out for.
Confirm your registration.
Receive your player number.
Take a quick player photo.
Head to your assigned field.

Our check-in tent is located between the fields, making it easy to find when you arrive.

What Will the Evening Look Like?

Players will move through several evaluation stations throughout the evening, including:

Warm-up
Speed & agility
Throwing evaluation
Defensive skills
Hitting
Bunting and game situations
Pitcher and catcher evaluations

Our goal is to let every athlete showcase her abilities in multiple areas of the game—not just one drill.

What Should Players Bring?

Please come prepared with:

Glove
Bat
Batting helmet
Cleats
Running shoes
Softball pants (or long athletic pants)
Catcher's gear (if applicable)
Plenty of water

Most importantly...

Bring a great attitude.

What Are Coaches Looking For?

Softball skills absolutely matter—but they aren't the only thing we evaluate.

Our coaching staff looks at:

Hitting
Fielding fundamentals
Throwing ability
Speed
Athleticism
Coachability
Hustle
Effort
Competitiveness
Positive attitude

Heart and hustle are just as important as talent. We want players who compete hard, support their teammates, and love getting better.

When Will I Hear Back?

One thing we promise every family:

We don't ghost anyone.

Every athlete who tries out will receive an answer.

Families offered a roster spot will typically hear from a coach within 48 hours, and accepted offers should be confirmed within 24 hours so we can finalize team rosters.

Can't Make the Main Tryout?

If you're unavailable on July 16, don't panic.

We can arrange a private tryout for players with scheduling conflicts.

That said, most roster decisions begin during the main tryout, so attending on July 16 provides the greatest opportunity.
